A practical weekly routine for exam preparation
A balanced week includes focused practice, review of mistakes, and time for the components you still need. Adjust session length to your schedule and energy.
Set a manageable rhythm
Choose four or five sessions that fit your week rather than relying on one long study day. Rotate reading, listening, speaking, writing and society knowledge where they apply. Keep one lighter review session for vocabulary and difficult items.
Give each session a clear task
For example: complete one reading section and mark evidence; listen to a short recording and note a correction; record three speaking responses; write one message from a prompt; or review one KNM theme through a scenario. Decide in advance how you will know the session is complete.
Use active review
After each task, write down one mistake and its cause. Was a condition missed? Was the question word unclear? Did the answer leave out a requested detail? Revisit the same skill later with a new prompt. Repeating the answer from memory helps you see whether you learned the method.
Check progress each week
At the end of the week, repeat a timed sample and compare accuracy, speed and confidence. If you are stuck, ask a teacher or study partner to review one specific answer. Book official practice tests periodically to check familiarity with the exam format.
