Online tools for Dutch exam preparation: choose carefully
Select a digital resource for a particular skill and check what feedback it offers. Official examples teach the format; other exercises can broaden practice.
Begin with official resources
Choose the resource that matches your level and component: A1 materials for the exam abroad, DUO samples for A2 and KNM, and the NT2 practice environment for Programme I or II. Check which parts the resource covers, whether it runs on a phone or computer and whether the sample is shorter than the real test.
Match the tool to the learning need
A spaced-repetition app can help revisit vocabulary. A voice recorder can make pauses or unclear pronunciation easier to notice. A timer can build pacing for reading and writing. Use each tool with a purpose and a review step; clicking through repeated questions without checking why an answer was right is weak practice.
Protect private information
Use trusted services and keep passwords private. Do not upload passport details, official letters or medical documents to a study tool. Before uploading a voice recording, check what is stored, who can access it and whether deletion is possible.
Build a simple study cycle
Practise one task, review errors, note one improvement and repeat with fresh material. Keep official mock exams for checking the exam interface and use general tools for skill building between mocks. A tool can support practice but cannot decide which exam or level applies to your official case.
