Choose Programme I or II

Programme I assesses Dutch at B1 and Programme II at B2. If your municipality, study programme or employer has specified a level, use that requirement. Check admission requirements separately when the exam is for education or professional registration.

Find an available session

Registration usually opens around eight weeks before an exam date. The official schedule lists when booking opens, the session date and the final registration date. Seats can run out early. Choose the city, week, component and available time in MijnDUO; if the preferred city is full, check another location.

Register and pay

Sign in with DigiD, or follow DUO’s alternative route if you cannot use it. In 2026, each exam component costs €50. You can register for components separately. Keep the confirmation and payment record, and check that the booking is for the intended programme.

Request adjustments or cancel early

Mention personal circumstances during registration if you need an adapted exam, then follow the evidence instructions from DUO. Cancellation and replacement rules have deadlines and may require supporting documents. Use the official service as soon as you know you cannot attend.
