State Exam NT2 day: arrive prepared

Prepare for an NT2 appointment using the call letter and current centre rules. Plan travel, bring accepted identification, and check restrictions on personal items.

Before leaving home

Check the address, start time and required identity document on your DUO call letter. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the appointment; late arrivals can be refused. Contact the exam service ahead of time if you discover a problem with your booking or ID.

What to bring and leave behind

Bring the valid identification specified in your letter. Phones, smartwatches and other electronic devices must be stored as instructed at the location. The centre supplies writing materials and scratch paper, which must be returned. You may bring a small snack and a drink in a closed bottle; follow staff directions about where these can be kept.

Dictionary rules depend on the component

For Reading and Writing, the permitted dictionary is the paper Van Dale Pocketwoordenboek NT2. It must not contain notes. Dictionaries are not allowed for Listening or Speaking, and digital dictionaries or other brands are not accepted. Check the current official item list before exam day in case instructions have changed.

If illness or another emergency prevents attendance

Use the official cancellation procedure as soon as possible. A replacement appointment may be possible for qualifying illness or bereavement in the immediate family, but evidence and a deadline apply. Keep the request and any response. Request an adjustment during registration and wait for confirmation before relying on it on exam day.
