KNM practice: reason from everyday situations
These newly written scenarios practise the reasoning used in KNM: identify the issue, the responsible organisation, and an appropriate next action.
Scenario: You move to a new home
Practice question: Which office should receive your change of address? A likely answer is the municipality, because it maintains the personal records for residents. Check the official process and timing for registering a move.
Scenario: A child cannot attend school
Practice question: What should a parent do first on a regular school day? Contact the school to report the absence and explain the situation. Health concerns may also require contacting a care provider; these are separate steps.
Scenario: You need non-urgent health advice
Practice question: Where can you usually begin for a common complaint? The general practitioner (huisarts) is typically the first contact for non-emergency care. Follow emergency guidance when a situation is urgent.
How to reason through KNM questions
Identify what the person needs to do, who is responsible and whether the situation is urgent. Eliminate answers that confuse national government, municipality, school, employer or healthcare provider. Then check the lesson topic in the official KNM material. These practice scenarios are original learning prompts and do not reproduce exam questions.
