What do the integration route statistics show?

Route tables show how people are distributed across the main learning paths and how far they have progressed. Compare like cohorts and account for elapsed time.

Routes have different goals

The B1 route connects language with participation, the education route prepares learners for further study, and the Z-route focuses on self-reliance. Completion indicators therefore do not describe identical activities.

Check who is counted as complete

A person may have started but not completed their route by the table date. Review the definitions for completion, exemption and people whose obligation ended.

Compare within a cohort

Use the same start year and observation date when comparing routes. Later cohorts have had less time to finish, so raw completion counts can mislead.

Read route totals with completion time

People assigned to different routes may have started at different times or have different programme lengths. Compare the same start cohorts and reporting dates, then distinguish route assignment from completion. A large group in one route does not tell you whether that route is easier or more effective. If a table reports people still in a route, remember that this is not the same as a count of people who have completed it.
