Integration evidence for a more secure residence permit
For a permanent residence application, the required integration proof depends on your residence category and case. Check the current accepted documents before applying.
Identify the residence route
Regular permanent residence, EU long-term residence and humanitarian non-temporary residence have different residence-history and permit conditions. An integration diploma usually meets the language requirement, but it does not by itself satisfy every condition. The IND reviews your route, residence period, income, identity and other documents.
Choose acceptable integration evidence
Depending on your case, accepted evidence can include an integration diploma, a qualifying certificate under the 2021 system, an exemption or waiver decision, or specific evidence of prior schooling or long residence. Some applicants may use a DUO advice route after documented effort under the 2013 law. The IND decides whether the evidence meets its current rule.
Check exceptions before booking an exam
Some people may be exempt based on age, nationality, residence history, education or a medical condition. Turkish nationals can have different rules. Do not assume that the exam requirement for naturalisation and permanent residence is identical.
Prepare documents for the application
Use the IND checklist for your permit type and submit the exact evidence it requests. Keep original diplomas or verified digital extracts available and ensure translations meet the stated requirements. If you are unsure whether a certificate or partial result qualifies, ask the IND before relying on it.
