Preparing for your integration exam day

Use the invitation and the provider’s instructions to prepare for your appointment. Check identity requirements, arrival details, and what is allowed for your specific exam.

Check your identity document

Bring a valid, undamaged ID accepted for the exam. The A1 exam abroad requires a passport, appointment confirmation and recent colour passport photo. A2 candidates should bring the document listed in the DUO letter. NT2 candidates need valid ID and their exam call letter.

Confirm time and location

Read the exact address and start time in the latest notice; the booking portal alone may not include all entry instructions. Plan travel with a buffer. A1 candidates are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early, while NT2 calls for 30 minutes. Follow the A2 invitation for its arrival time.

Pack only permitted items

Leave notes, phones and smartwatches outside the exam room or store them as instructed. For NT2 Reading or Writing, only the permitted clean paper Van Dale NT2 dictionary is allowed. A2 writing is on paper, but dictionaries are not allowed. The A1 test may require biometric checks.

Arrange access needs and emergencies early

Request approved adjustments before the appointment and wait for confirmation. If illness or another emergency prevents you from attending, contact the provider promptly and follow the formal cancellation or replacement procedure. Keep the confirmation of any change.
