The education route: language and further study
The education route links Dutch study with preparation for further education. Check the programme, target level, and exams recorded in your own plan.
Check the intended level
The route prepares learners for further education and commonly works toward B1 or B2 Dutch. Your assigned level and exam requirements are personal, so use your plan rather than choosing an exam from the route name alone.
Ask about the linked programme
A language transition programme can include Dutch, study skills and subject preparation. Ask your municipality or provider which lessons are included, how attendance is recorded and what completion evidence is needed.
Confirm exams and route changes
The education route can have a different exam combination from the B1 route. Check Mijn Inburgering and your PIP before booking; contact your municipality if your study plans or circumstances change.
Ask about the programme behind the route
Confirm which provider delivers the language and study preparation, what attendance is expected, and whether costs are arranged by the municipality. Ask how the programme connects to further education and how your progress is reviewed. If your intended course or study plans change, discuss the effect on your route before switching exams.
