Choose an integration school that fits your plan

Compare schools by fit with your route, current Dutch level, schedule, teaching support, and total price. First establish which organisation arranges or funds your course.

Confirm who arranges your programme

For some people under the 2021 system, the municipality selects or arranges lessons as part of the personal integration plan. Others, including many family migrants, choose a provider themselves. Under the 2013 system, learners generally arranged their own course. Check your DUO letter and speak with your municipality before paying privately.

Check approval and course fit

If you expect to use a DUO loan, confirm that the provider and course meet the current approval requirements. Compare the teaching level and route with your required exams. Ask how many guided hours are included, who teaches, how large classes are, when lessons run, and what support is available if you fall behind.

Compare the full offer before signing

Request a written breakdown of tuition, books, registration and any extra charges. Read cancellation, absence, pause and refund terms, and ask what happens if your plan or route changes. Be cautious of guaranteed-pass promises: a provider cannot guarantee an exam outcome. Keep the contract and payment records.
