Start with your municipality

Ask your contact person to review the current route against your progress and plans. Bring concrete examples, such as course attendance, exam results or a new study opportunity.

Check timing and conditions

The rules for changing route depend on the route and when the integration period began. For example, changes from the education route may follow a different time limit. Ask the municipality to explain the rule that applies to your case.

Get the PIP updated

A decision is not complete for your day-to-day planning until the personal plan reflects it. Check Mijn Inburgering afterward and make sure exam level, course and participation arrangements match the new plan.

Bring evidence to a route discussion

Prepare a brief account of your progress and the practical reason for asking for a review. Bring attendance records, study results, or information about changed health, work, or education plans when relevant. Ask what happens to your current deadline and exams while the municipality considers the request, and wait for the written decision.
