What to do after a DUO integration letter
Start with the decision date and instructions in your letter. Your next actions may involve DUO, the municipality, or both, depending on the law and route.
Read the decision and identify the law
Check whether the letter says you have a legal integration duty, which law applies and when your period begins. If the 2021 system applies, the municipality will arrange an intake and personal integration plan. Under the 2013 system, you generally organize your course and exams yourself.
Check your records online
Sign in to Mijn Inburgering to see required exams, tasks and current deadlines. If your personal plan is not ready under the 2021 system, contact the municipality about the intake and any documents it needs. The formal start date is sent separately after the plan is set.
Plan lessons and support
Ask who pays for lessons, whether an approved provider is required and which loan or free-attempt rules may apply. Compare a course with the route and level in your official records. Keep attendance, booking and payment records.
Act on deadlines and unclear details
Mark deadlines for exams and municipal activities such as PVT or MAP. If a letter conflicts with your account or you cannot complete an action, contact DUO or the municipality named in the instructions. Save the response and check any objection deadline if you disagree with the decision.
