A final check for A2 writing
Before submitting an A2 response, compare it with every point in the prompt. Check that the reader can understand your message and the requested details are present.
Match the format
For a practice message, check who will read it, why you are writing and whether a greeting or closing is needed. For a form, put each detail in the requested field and use the required date or contact information.
Make the message complete
Underline each instruction in the prompt and tick it off after you answer it. Prefer short sentences with a clear subject and verb. Check word order in main sentences and questions.
Review important details
Check names, dates, times and negation words. Read the message once as the recipient: can they understand what happened and what you want? Fix one issue at a time rather than rewriting everything.
A short final review
Check the requested information one point at a time: purpose, person, date, place, and any question the task asks you to answer. Then read the message once as if you were the recipient. Correct a sentence only when it improves meaning; avoid replacing clear words with unfamiliar ones at the last minute.
