Finding evidence in A2 reading tasks
For each A2 reading answer, locate the line or table entry that supports it. Pay attention to limits, dates, negation, and details that distinguish similar options.
Read the question before scanning
Decide whether you need a date, time, price, location, reason or action. Scan headings, names and repeated terms to find the likely section. You do not need to translate every sentence before answering.
Check the full condition
Suppose a notice says: U kunt de formulieren op maandag ophalen, maar u moet eerst een afspraak maken. (You can collect the forms on Monday, but you must make an appointment first.) An answer that says only “collect on Monday” misses the condition. Pay attention to words such as maar (but), alleen (only), eerst (first) and niet (not).
Compare each answer with the evidence
Return to the sentence or table row that supports your choice. Check who the information applies to and whether a time, exception or action is included. If two options share a keyword, choose the one that matches the complete meaning.
Review patterns in your mistakes
After practice, record which evidence you overlooked: a date, contrast, negation, condition or pronoun reference. Then try a fresh task of the same type. Use DUO practice to learn the exam screen and practise within the A2 reading time limit.
