A2 exam results: book a resit with DUO (Dutch education service)

Check your result before planning a resit

Check your result in Mijn Inburgering before planning a resit. DUO’s general page gives eight weeks; its 31 July 2026 notice currently allows up to sixteen weeks for A2 speaking and writing. Check that notice for changes and keep your contact details current.

Use the result window to plan, not to guess

Reading, listening and KNM results are normally issued within eight weeks. DUO has announced a temporary longer window of up to sixteen weeks for A2 speaking and writing. These are estimates and can change, so check the latest notice and your portal. DUO also sends a letter; keep your contact details current and check both post and online messages.

Book only the part still required

After a result appears, review your personal exam overview. The A2 language skills and KNM are separate components, so passing one does not automatically clear another. Retake only a component still listed as required, unless DUO gives you different instructions. ONA, when it applies to your case, has its own submission and completion steps; municipal participation tasks are handled separately.

A simple resit checklist

Before booking, confirm the required part and level, check the deadline in your latest letter, look at available dates, and verify how the attempt will be paid. If a required result is delayed, save your registration confirmation and the official delay notice, then contact DUO if the stated window passes. After booking, save the confirmation and allow time to travel to the location.

Once every required component is complete, check how your route records completion. The integration diploma is available through DUO’s diploma service in applicable cases; people who complete the self-reliance route receive a certificate from their municipality. Keep a digital copy of each result and completion document.
